The primary goal of this project was to create a more user-friendly and memorable proposal for Ice River Films to stand out during a film distributor conference in Morocco. Recognizing the need for a unique and impactful solution, I developed an interactive postcard in addition to the traditional letter-sized proposal file. This approach aimed to simplify accessibility while enhancing the overall presentation and user experience.

The Challenge
Film distributors at conferences are often overwhelmed with numerous proposals, making it difficult to stand out. The challenge was to design a proposal that was both eye-catching and convenient for the audience while maintaining a cohesive, professional aesthetic.

Innovative Solution
To address this challenge, I moved beyond standard formats by creating interactive postcards embedded with QR codes. These innovative postcards provided film distributors with a streamlined way to access the proposal:

  • Document QR Code: Enabled users to download the proposal directly onto their devices, eliminating the need to carry physical pages.
  • Email QR Code: Allowed users to send an email to the contact person with a single scan, saving time and effort.

This solution not only reduced physical clutter but also introduced a tech-savvy edge that made the proposal both functional and modern.

Design Consistency
The design of the postcards was consistent with the proposal document, ensuring a unified visual identity. This level of cohesion helped reinforce the brand and made Ice River Films more memorable to viewers.

Key features of the design included:

  • A clean, professional layout with striking visuals.
  • Thoughtful use of typography and imagery that aligned with the film’s identity.
  • A versatile front cover design that could scale effortlessly to larger formats, such as film posters, adding multi-purpose value to the project.

Outcome
By merging usability with creativity, the interactive postcards made the proposal easier to access. The ability to seamlessly integrate a dual-purpose design—both as postcards and as film posters—enhanced the project’s overall impact, achieving two goals with a single design.

As a designer, creating solutions that simplify tasks and enhance user experience is always a rewarding challenge, and this project exemplified the power of design innovation in delivering memorable and practical results.
