“wâposo-mîcimâpoy,” meaning Rabbit Soup in Cree, is an unscripted educational TV show filmed in-studio and spoken in the traditional Cree language. Designed in the spirit of classic 1980s programming, the show blends cultural education with nostalgic humor and playful energy.
The creative team needed a logo that felt fun, a little cheesy, and deeply rooted in Indigenous color symbolism and visual language. It also had to include a mascot character that would anchor the identity of the show across 13 episodes.

The Creative Journey
When I first heard about this project, my gut did a little flip—half excitement, half fear. But not the kind of fear that freezes you, more the kind that fuels you. I instantly remembered my high school days, sketching characters on the margins of my notebooks. That memory whispered, “You’ve got this.”

I started with hand-drawn sketches of the rabbit mascot’s head, refining two concepts before moving into vector work. Still, something felt missing—I wanted more life, more story. That’s when I decided to draw the full body of the rabbit. From there, the logo naturally evolved into two final variations, full of energy and personality.

Alongside the main logo, I created a stand-alone icon for versatile use across different platforms. The icon merges the letters “w” and “m” into a single, seamless shape—a visual nod to wâposo-mîcimâpoy while staying playful and memorable. This compact version works perfectly as a social media avatar, a sticker, or a quick branding stamp without losing the show’s fun identity.

To make the brand more dynamic and animation-friendly, I designed two extra facial expressions for the rabbit mascot, adding versatility for storytelling moments in the show’s intro or promotional materials. These alternative expressions keep the character alive and expressive, fitting perfectly with the show’s light-hearted tone.

Colorful stars, sparkles, and patterned elements were also created as supporting graphics. These assets are inspired by 80’s kids’ TV shows—playful, bold, and slightly cheesy in the best way—allowing for animated transitions, stickers, and visual effects that make the show’s branding more engaging and full of personality.
